About

I’m Tiffany, a design leader based in the SF Bay Area.

Hello! So nice to meet you. I’m currently a Sr. Manager of Product Design at Khan Academy, where I lead several product squads, including a 0-1 product (“Assessments”) that spans both enterprise and consumer experience and our visual rebrand, launching September 2025.

Right now, my design teams and I are focusing our efforts in leveraging AI in both our workflows and in our design craft to increase efficiency while remaining thoughtful in our approach.

I have significant experience in ecommerce, health care and biotech, where I led multidisciplinary design teams (e.g. research, product design, branding, creative technology).

I received my M.S. in Information Science (HCI emphasis) from the University of Michigan and my PhD in Sociology from UC Santa Barbara. I was a post-doctoral scholar at Stanford University where I led research on inequality within organizations and published in peer-reviewed journals.

Design leadership experience

team management structures
I’ve led matrixed squads, managed a variety of design and design-adjacent roles (content design, design technologist, ux research, product design), managed managers, and have had as many as 8 direct reports at a time.

my leadership approach
I really, really love managing people! Relationships and connections with people made me want to be apart of leadership teams. My style aligns most closely with servant and coaching leadership styles: I am very hands-on with skilling up and improving design craft and I actively look for ways to promote and advocate for my teams.

design background
I am highly skilled in ux research, interaction design, information architecture, and product design for complex enterprise and consumer-facing software experiences and applications. I have scaled and lead multiple design scrum teams, collaborating on and/or leading product strategy and building roadmaps.

strategy + business acumen
Being a true strategic partner with product management and marketing is always the dream. I enjoy using quant and qual methods to collect data and working with experts in experiments and measurements, as well as using empirical evidence/ desk research to inform roadmaps.
